Which agency regulates my product?
Jurisdiction depends on use, ingredients, risk, origin and transaction. INVIMA covers various food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and devices; ICA oversees certain agricultural, plant and animal products. VUCE and DIAN can be involved in imports. Not every product needs an INVIMA permit.
What changes when a product is imported?
Importers must check tariff classification, commercial documents and potential authorizations before clearance. Imported plant products may require ICA phytosanitary controls depending on risk, with exceptions for certain processed products.
How does cosmetic notification work?
Cosmetic products may require an Andean Mandatory Sanitary Notification (NSO). Check Decision 833 and the Andean labeling regulations, including Resolution 2310/2022 as amended by Resolution 2540/2025. Compliance cannot be confirmed from OCR text alone.
Can the app submit directly to government systems?
The prototype creates preparatory guidance only. No authorized direct INVIMA API has been established. VUCE offers XML mass import documentation, but production connectivity requires validating formats and rights.
How much does it cost?
Government fees depend on authority, filing code and date. InnWeb professional fees are separate: COP 150,000 for a label report, COP 225,000 for label redesign and COP 1,000,000 for defined-scope filing management.
